We've Moved

Wow! I’m feeling pretty bad right now looking at my last title as 4 months. Yikes, that seems like just yesterday, but yet so long ago. So much has happened in the last months.
First, a big family update: We’ve moved!! That’s partly the reason to blame for my lack of blogs. I let the office be one of the last places to come together. It was not a critical path item for me. I’ll post pictures of the new place later, but life here so far has been wonderful. The house is larger, but it’s not so much the house, but rather the quality of life that’s jumped tenfold.  I did love our last home and we were by no means bursting at the seams; but it was on a busy street, with no garage, and any time I wanted to head out for a walk I had to load up the kids in the car and drive to the playground or place to walk. Here we are in a wonderfully private neighborhood where kids roam the streets like I did as a child. It doesn’t have the view we loved so dearly, but it does come with a pool, dock/boat slip, and playground. Our street is very quiet and has a double cul-de-sac, so Lane can ride her bike up and down the street without worry. We also negotiated a golf cart into the home deal, and love taking nightly cruises around the neighborhood and to the neighboring hoods.
So, here we are, hopefully where we’ll be for the long haul, and I couldn’t be more grateful for how God put things together to get us here.  There were times I was discouraged that our home wasn’t selling, and upset to see a home we loved slip through our fingers, but when it was all said and done, this is the best house for us we looked at throughout the whole time and best neighborhood for us too. So, when in doubt…trust the big mans timing. God’s got it!
We celebrated Thanksgiving here in Savannah welcoming our newest nephew Cole Thomas Cawthon. It was a scary first week since he aspirated some meconium, but he's thriving now and I'm sure he and Haynes will be up to trouble in no time.
We spent Christmas in Augusta with all of my siblings and their kiddos. It was a bit tight on space, but tons of fun to get everyone together. Christmas is so much more magical with kids around.
Lane update: She’s growing WAY too quickly! We celebrated her third birthday the weekend before last at our new place with blow-ups and chicken nuggets.  She loved it. Her favorite color is purple, so we got a super yummy strawberry cake with purple and pink cream cheese icing. It was a hit and I’m pretty sure Lane ate 4 large slices of cake that Saturday. On her actual birthday we headed to the local Mexican restaurant Jalapeños. Jalapenos’ has become a tradition since we noticed on her second birthday that we attended on her actual first birthday too. Santa brought her a “big bike” for Christmas and she can already cruise quickly throughout the neighborhood. I got a new bike as well, so we’ll be cruising together with Haynes in the seat on the back of my bike. Luke prefers motorized vehicles he says. So…I guess he’ll ride behind us in the golf cart. Lane started back swimming again in January and loves it. She really is getting to be quite the swimmer. I know I’ll appreciate that come summer time. Lane is sweet and sassy, and I just hope we can survive three (from what I hear the hardest year in parenting). So far, so good!
Luke update: Luke is having great success right now! He LOVES his new company and is thriving there. One of his goals on moving back to Savannah was to get accepted in the chamber program called Leadership Savannah. It’s a tough group to get into, with a very detailed application process. Luke was thrilled to learn last year that he was accepted into the program and is currently going through that yearlong program. Luke was also nominated and won the Generation Next Award from Savannah Magazine, and Business in Savannah publication. The Generation Next Award identifies 20 of the top up and coming business leaders in Savannah that are under 40. Winners are both successful and philanthropic, and it was a HUGE honor that Luke won. I am so proud of him, and it’s great to see his hard work paying off.  It’s also pretty fun to see your cute husband all over the pages of Savannah Magazine too.

Haynes Update: I’m not even sure where to begin with this cutie. He smiles ALL the time, he loves Lane more than anyone, He’s a social laugher, and tons of fun. I write down dates and items in my phone to remember, put in here, and then eventually into his baby book.  Haynes sat up at 4.5 months; his first two teeth came in at 4 months, and he started crawling on January 12th, the day after Lane’s birthday. He did no form of army crawling (just like his sister). The same week Lane learned to crawl she started pulling up. Haynes beat Lane crawling, and has started attempting to pull up, but he’s not quite there. It’s fun to compare the two and see how they differ. Overall I must say they are tracking pretty much the same though. Everyone has told me boys are slower to walk, so we’ll see here in the next couple of months. I really can’t believe this kiddo will be 7 months is a few short days. We love you Haynes!
Some of these photos are quite old! I have many more I'll post up, but these are just ones I had easy access too. They are not in order of age either.
Posing for me while the weather was unseasonable warm!
I love this little outfit

Not sure why the quality is so poor on this. It's showing weight at 31 percentile, but I could have sworn he was at one point in the 10th percentile, so...maybe I just have no idea what I'm talking about. He's tall and skinny like his dad! The other graphs look equally bad, so I'll just post the overall stats with the picture below.

Merry Christmas
