Month 2

*** I wrote this a long while back, but wanted to post it anyway!
Two months old and we've hit our grove! I now feel like we get each other, and life is just a bit easier these days.
For starters you've been rocking the sleep world. Lane really wasn't a horrible sleeper, but you definitely have her beat. 7:30 to 8 is bedtime, and you generally wake up once around 3:30 and then you cash back out until anywhere from 5:30-7:30. The other night we put you to bed around 10 and you didn't wake until 7:30, and I was tempted to make that a regular routine, but I think we'll stick with 7:30/8, so that Luke and I have some alone time together each night.
My endo doctor gave me the approval to keep pumping breast milk, so right now I'm pumping twice a day, and getting anywhere from 10-15 ounces per session, so that along with one formula bottle per day has your food covered.
I also love that you respond with a huge smile when you see my face, and often coo back when I talk to you. You already know how to melt your momma's heart.
You are very alert now, and when propped up on a pillow work very hard to try and throw your body into a sitting position. Lane set up without support at 4 months, so I think Haynes is trying to keep up. I know I sound crazy saying this, but you are teething all over the place. Both Lane and I got our first tooth at 3 months, but I don't remember Lane teething (I just looked and noticed it one day). You are aggressively munching and chewing my finger or anything else we put in your mouth. I'd be surprised if you don't also have your teeth very early on.
You had your first boat ride on August 9th, you also had your first dip in the pool on August 22nd at Dutch Island pool. I failed to capture a picture of the pool time, because our whole family was in the water together. The stats from month one are listed below along with your two month charts and stats. You are a very easy, wonderful addition to our family Haynes! We LOVE you!

A little Lane update too! Lane is rocking swim these days. She is in a class with two other boys that can already swim, so they have really pushed her to be brave and go for it. She can doggie paddle with her face in the water in the shallow end very well, but is working on jumping in the deep water and doggie paddling with breathing and then keep going. Luke and I listed out a bunch of different activities and decided that swimming was the one that won because it's a real life skill, so we are going to stick with this until I feel like she's got swimming really down. I am proud of how far she has come though, and it shouldn't be too long until she's an official fish.
Lane also had her first trip to the dentist on August 21st. Our friend Chad Schnabel who Luke and I see saw her for her first appointment. She got rave reviews, and was a wonderful patient. After the cleaning was over they removed her glasses while we waited for Dr. Chad to come in, once he arrived he laid her down ready to check out her teeth, and she halted the exam to ask for her glasses. Ha! She is quite the diva, and knows exactly what she wants (all the time).
In final family news, we are under contract on our house. Thank you everyone for the prayers, and please keep praying for us. Hopefully we will close without a hitch on October 14th. We need the prayers to keep coming so that we can find a home to move into. We've been looking for a while, but haven't found anything we are in love with in our desired locations, so...looks like we might be moving in with the in-laws for a bit if nothing comes on the market in time. We did put an offer in on a place, but with a lot of contingencies, so I'm trying not to be too in love with that house since so many things have to fall into place to make it work. I am just so happy that we are now going to be sitting on go when something we do want becomes available. Who knows...we might even just build a house!
As always, the photo dump for this month: (well the reason I have been writing these and not posting on time is because our computer is slap full, and I need to dump some photos on a backup hard drive in addition to the cloud (since that makes me too nervous). Well I got on Luke's computer tonight just to get the photos for this blog and sure enough...something is not working on this website. So, I'll just do a photo dump only post soon).
