Dirt Road Anthem

This weekend we hit the dirt roads of Alabama with new and old friends. We spent a full day wondering trails and traversing some crazy terrain. I'm not going to lie and say it was all peaches. I definitely got pretty scared a time or twelve, but I was with an excellent group of (basically professional) 4-wheelers (one being my husband). We did have a large group and a paramedic with us, so I felt pretty safe even with the seriously steep mountains. It was a full day of mud sling fun and beautiful views. I took a ton of pictures that you can check out on my FB page.
I also wanted to say that I start my new job with Lockheed Martin on September 12th. I can't wait to finally get there and get to work. It's been a long process with all of the background checking and pre work requirements. Once I start I'm not sure when or how often I'll be able to blog, but I'll try and keep up. Happy Monday Everyone...I'm sure I might soon realize once I start working again, that there is no such thing as Happy Monday, but for now there is!!

Glad I had on snake boots!

So BUSY

Things have been downright crazy lately. Luke and I left for Savannah last Thursday night after work for a day of house hunting in Savannah. Just to clarify...we are just looking for a home base (not moving there at this point in our life)
After a day of house hunting Luke left to join in a bachelor party for an Auburn friend. Saturday evening I picked up Luke for his 10 year high school reunion. Crazy huh!! It was fun, and apparently Luke hasn't changed a bit.
The only picture we snagged on our way to the reunion
Sunday I headed to Sumter, SC to help my friend Anna Mo. with wedding stuff. We were VERY successful on Monday finding THE DRESS, and narrowed down the selections of venues to three. She's getting married next June in Columbia, SC. I would LOVE to post a pic of how beautiful her dress is, but you know that's against the rules.
So...I'm finally home yesterday after a pit stop and lunch with my family in Augusta. Today's mission is to finish up the rehearsal dinner slideshow I'm in charge of for my friends Jamie and Scott's wedding this weekend. I'm super excited and will hopefully have tons of pictures to show later.
One last thing I guess I should throw out...Today I accepted an offer from Lockheed Martin! http://www.lockheedmartin.com I'm officially back in the supply chain world. They said it will take a full month to complete my background check and all that jazz (military freight), but this time next month I'll be a full time working lady again. I'm pretty excited!

Let Them Eat CAKE!

By them I mean me! I know it's not good for my body, but cake sure does feed the soul. This weekend my sister Katie dropped by for a visit. We laid by the pool, baked a cake from scratch that seriously dirtied every dish in my kitchen (so thankful to have a dishwasher), dined at a delish local Newnan joint, and just had some good 'ol fashion fun.

2 Years!

Today marks our 2 year wedding anniversary. Luke and I celebrated this past weekend, and I've decided to make this one HUGE blog post of pictures!
Have I ever mentioned I'm the luckiest girl in the world? Well...I'm pretty sure I am. I met the perfect guy, at the turns out perfect time, and fell perfectly in LOVE. As luck would have it; I met Luke two days before graduating from Auburn and moving to Atlanta. We were one of those love at first sight couples. The moment I walked into the room and saw him was the moment I HAD to have him (he says it was the same for him..Ha). I guess the rest is really history. Luke and I've had a wonderful history so far, and I know a great future to come. I really do love Luke more deeply and truly than the day I married him.

Toasting to Forever!
This weekend we went low key with our 2 year anniversary. We headed to the farm (where there is no cell service) to connect! We cooked great meals, laid out under the stars, wondered for hours through the woods on 4 wheelers, and had a blast. Saturday we headed to Auburn where it all began to eat lunch at one of my favorite places, and take in the ever changing Auburn before the crazy of football season starts.

Guess What We Got??

A Momma Goldberg's Deli right down the road from my house! For those of you poor people that don't know what Momma G's is....well...it's one of the BEST sandwich and nacho places on the planet, and a huge Auburn favorite.
The original shop is in Auburn, but now they have branched out to a number of towns in the southeast. Newnan's Momma G's just recently opened, and has this crazy coke machine like our Taco Mac that allows you to make like 99 different flavors. Have you guys seen these new coke deals? I had peach sprite last night. It was good (a little heavy), but I liked it overall and have a feeling I'll be exploring new flavor options each time I visit.
Amazing nachos are pepper jack cheese steamed over Doritos! You MUST TRY THIS!

Kiawah

This past week I've been reminiscing on days of my childhood. So much of my childhood, and it seems all of my pictures growing up were taken at our beach house on Kiawah Island. We don't have the house anymore, but going back to the island is such a fun trip down memory lane.
My mom and I drove over to hang out with my Aunt Debbie (mom's sis) and some of her family who were renting a house for the week. I don't have any beach pictures, but hopefully Lisa will blog with all of the pics she took on the beach.
I think my favorite part about Kiawah... and a MUST if you decide to visit yourself is... Bike Riding! The whole island is filled with wonderful bike trails (you can easily get lost, so take a map if it's your first rodeo).
The Drive from Augusta to Kiawah is BEAUTIFUL!

Our Old Beach House!
Alligators were EVERYWHERE growing up, but I haven't seen very many in the recent years

One of my best friends Lisa G. is dating my 1st cousin! Always fun to have friends with family.
Both Lisa G and Aunt Debbie fell off their bikes this week. Thankfully no serious injuries!

Girls

Girls just want to have fun...and this past weekend I did! I met up with some of my Auburn lady friends. It had been way to long since I've seen some of these girls, so a beach trip down to Lydia's house on Ono Island was much needed. We met up for this trip in years past, but this was the first year with babies! Carol noticed how grown up we are with every car in the drive having a third row, and everyone being up by 7:30. I'm pretty sure we might have still been drinking at 7:30 a.m. in years past. Oh how times are a changing!
I'm home today and then head off for one last beach trip in Kiawah, SC with some of my family tomorrow. I guess I'm just making up for missing the beach altogether last year while in New Mexico.
