Happy Saturday to all!
For Christmas this year I got a Singer sewing machine. I have been wanting one for a while now and finally put it on my Christmas list this year. With the move right after the holidays, I didn't get a chance to really pull it out until yesterday.
I'm going to have to say that setting everything up with the thread felt a little like brain surgery. If you have no idea about anything in the sewing world like me...getting everything in order before you even start to sew is HARD! I did finally get everything together though, and started exploring the different sewing options. My goal this weekend is two new pillow covers for our couch pillows. The current ones are UGLY! Luke has to work for a little bit today, so that's the goal while he is out. So...wish me luck in that adventure!
Once Luke is finished we are going to have a picnic! The weather is just beautiful out, and very warm considering we had snow so recently. I hear the whole East is covered in snow, so I'll post picks for ya'll to live through us. Ha!
Happy Happy Saturday!
Several things about this post make me happy! I had no idea you had entered the world of sewing too! I am so glad to hear someone else say that threading the machine was complicated! I wish you could have seen me messing with my machine the first time. Miss you!
ReplyDeletewe must be getting oldy, because i'm actually jealous of your sewing machine. did you get the pillow covers done? post some pics!
ReplyDeleteIf you need a tutorial, I did one for pillow covers that don't require any zippers or buttons... since those are currently over my head.

I got a sewing machine for Christmas in 2008 and I have only used it once because I am so intimidated by the darn thing! I can't even tackle the vocabulary... I think I need my mama to teach me what I'm doing.
ReplyDeleteIt's official--- we are old! I can't believe how many of you own sewing machines already! I think I'm getting the hang of the darn thing, but it's TBD how much I am really going to produce here. Happy Sewing!!
